New Moon Dominates Box Office |
New Moon heads into its second weekend as the clear favourite to retain the overseas crown and should cross $200m with launches in nearly 30 territories.
Japan and Germany will deliver the strongest results from the new batch, which should feature strong numbers across the board and features Portugal, Austria and South Africa.
Meanwhile Twi-hards will no doubt be lining up to reward the vampire saga in what will be a string of impressive second weekends in the UK, France, Spain, Australia, Italy, Mexico and Brazil among others, helping to propel the running total far beyond its $150m-plus tally.
The worldwide tally will soar past $350m and may cross $400m, eclipsing Twilights entire global take of $384.9m after a mere two weeks in release.
Sony Pictures Releasing Internationals disaster movie 2012 is also whipping up a storm at the box office and has reached $375.5m in less than three weeks. The disaster movie is poised to join a select band when it crosses $400m by the end of the weekend. |
