Fox Hold On To Watt

20th Century Fox has secured a new deal with Emma Watts that makes her sole president of production, in a deal thought to last 3 years.

The appointment by Fox Filmed Entertainment chairmen Tom Rothman and Jim Gianopulos keeps Fox as a bastion of stability at a time when studios are rife with executive shakeups.

Watts is a highly-regarded 11-year Fox veteran who is currently overseeing some of the studio's biggest movies including the Shawn Levy-directed "Date Night" with Tina Fey and Steve Carell; the Dwayne Johnson-vechile "Tooth Fairy"; "Marmaduke," with Owen Wilson voicing the mischievous Great Dane; "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps," the Oliver Stone-directed drama that stars Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf and Josh Brolin; "The A-Team," starring Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper; and the Jack Black-starrer "Gulliver's Travels."

"Emma has been here a decade and distinguished herself at every level along the way," Rothman and Gianopulos said in a statement. "It is always especially gratifying when we can turn to the strength of our bench to promote the next generation of star executives and in the process rewarding outstanding achievement. We are certain that Emma will lead us forward with the energy, creativity and determination to succeed that she has shown throughout her already exceptional career here."
